Battle for the Aleutians- June,1942 to July, 1943

As a part of the massive Midway campaign, Japan sends a secondary fleet north to capture the Aleutian Islands. After bombing the main US base at Dutch Harbor, Japanese troops occupy Kiska and Attu Islands. The US begins a bloody campaign to recover the only North American soil occupied by enemy troops during World War II.
